Local terminology & long-term goals
Frequencies
The development of a demonym for the people of a new society is inevitable, so we’ve chosen our own. The people of High Energy are officially known as Frequencies.
In time, all inconsistent instances of “villagers”, “artists”, “residents”, and “engineers” will be replaced with “Frequency/Frequencies”… except in the cases where a distinction is necessary between full-time residents, visiting guests staying for a predetermined amount of time, and those that are only there during certain hours to utilize studio resources.
“fully operational”
Throughout the description of this village, you will often find the phrase “once the village is fully operational”… this is because there are a number of things that we want to do with the village that won’t actually be practical (or even possible) until the village is “fully operational”.
“Fully operational” means that the following conditions are met:
Structures
every planned structure has been built
Inhabited
at least 75% of the residential bedrooms are inhabited
Greenhouses
the greenhouses have been producing food without serious malfunction for at least 24 weeks
Water
plumbing (greywater plumbing, rainwater collection/filtration, and dew collection) has been without serious malfunction for at least 24 weeks
Electricity
electricity has been without serious malfunction for at least 24 weeks (not counting severe-weather-induced outages)
Operational Systems
the operational system (the private intranet that facilitates voting, ordering, inventory, etc.) has been without serious malfunction for at least 24 weeks
(a serious malfunction is a malfunction that takes more than a day to repair)
