Building a Sustainable Today

Permaculture Meets Sustainable Living,
Arts, and Engineering in High Energy Sanctuary

Hello. My name is Sujiyra.

Ten years ago, I released this idea (under a different name) as it existed in my imagination at that time, mostly to see what sort of response it would receive. Since then, with the aid of bold and inquisitive artists and engineers in search of a home, experience, and technological developments – it has evolved.

And though I’m just as eager as many, if not more so, to live in this village, I’m grateful that I’ve had this much time to freely sort out the details. It feels far more complete than when it was first proposed, and it will continue to evolve.

So, think of this village, not as a school or commune or farm, but as another operating system for a way of life. Sure, I’m not the first to have an idea of this nature – and I certainly won’t be the last – but I’m comfortable in saying that this one definitely has some unique characteristics.

Some highlights:

Growing food all year with climate controlled aquaponics greenhouses (meaning we’ll grow both food and fish without the use of fertilizer or chemicals).
Also growing food by way of food forest and hügelkultur walls.
Disaster-resistant, energy-efficient dome-shaped structures (can’t be blown away, washed away, or burned. Can even survive earthquakes to an extent – can’t do much about it if the ground opens beneath it).
The use of natural energy (solar, zero-point, etc), rainwater collection, greywater plumbing & filtration, and other sustainable technologies for basic utilities.
Dome and torus-shaped homes with attached greenhouses and private bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. Bathrooms feature incinerating toilets (no water, no composting, just ash), tankless solar powered water heaters, and foot or gravity pump sinks and showers. Free of monetary cost for each resident – instead, residents pay by working 6 hours each week to help keep the village operational. Residents will also be paid in the village currency for those 6 hours.
Village will support every type of art and engineering possible.
Experiential school with interest-driven education that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and sustainable living from an early age.
High Energy Sanctuary isn’t about creating utopia—we’re crafting a conscious, sustainable way of life.
